The Barossa Valley will benefit from extending ‘Barossa Gourmet’ from a once a year event to a seasonal quarterly festival thanks to the Coalition’s Building Better Regions Fund.

Member for Barker said the Barossa Gourmet Seasons program would capitalise on the strengths of the Barossa Gourmet Weekend and increase the regions reputation as an all year round destination. The new program will be a food, wine and cultural experience each season.

“I’m really pleased to see Tourism Barossa be successful in their application for $42,000 in funding through the Building Better Regions Fund,” Mr Pasin said.

“This announcement is a real boost for our local producers and retailers and we know the benefits of this project will also flow through to the broader Barossa community.”

“Without the Building Better Regions Fund, these community investment projects often struggle to get the funding to get off the ground or in this case to extend an already successful event,” Mr Pasin said.

Minister for Regional Development Fiona Nash said the Building Better Regions Fund Community Investment Stream was investing $6.9 million in community projects throughout regional Australia.

“I aim to help build the kinds of regional communities our children and grandchildren either want to stay in or come back to. This project helps to do that,” The Minister said.

The Building Better Regions Fund is investing $500 million to foster economic growth in rural, regional, and remote communities.
