Primary Producers and businesses who have suffered the affects from the recent bushfire in Keilira will be able to apply for the Federal Government’s emergency bushfire funding.

Member for Barker Tony Pasin said the government was providing grants up to $75,000 for primary producers and up to $10,000 for businesses to help recover from fires.

“Primary producers impacted by the Keilira fire have been hit hard, and these grants will go a long way in being able to help them recover,” Mr Pasin said.

“This funding provides critical support for our primary producers in a time when they need it most. It will help them start to rebuild and restock.

“The money can be used to replace things such as sheds, fences and stock so this area can get back to business sooner.

“We are ensuring that our farmers have the support to get their properties operating again to keep doing what our primary producers do best—produce high quality, fresh and sustainable food and fibre.”

This initiative forms part of $2 billion commitment the Morrison Government has made to address the impact of recent bushfires.

It follows the announcement last week of Australian Government Disaster Recovery Allowance and Disaster Recovery Payment for those affected in Keilira.
