Member for Barker Tony Pasin’s annual Barker Christmas Card competition has been another success with hundreds of entries received from across the electorate.

Students from years one to five were invited to submit artwork that represented Christmas in their region.

“We’ve had a fantastic response, with outstanding entries coming in from across the electorate,” Mr Pasin said.

“I congratulate all those students who took the time and effort to create artwork that demonstrated what Christmas means to them, in their unique region,” said Mr Pasin.

Four entries were selected by Mr Pasin to feature on his 2018 Christmas Cards, one from each region of the Barker electorate- Barossa, South East, Riverland and Murray Mallee.

An artwork by Elsie Chapman, year 2 at Redeemer Lutheran School was chosen by Mr Pasin to appear on the card to represent the Barossa.

An artwork by Kayla Virag, year 5 at Cambrai Primary School was chosen by Mr Pasin to appear on the card to represent the Murray Mallee.

An artwork by Lexy Hayes, year 5 at Robe Primary School was chosen by Mr Pasin to appear on the card to represent the South East.

An artwork by Lillian McKinnon, year 1 at Kingston on Murray Primary School was chosen by Mr Pasin to appear on the card to represent the Riverland.

Mr Pasin visited the girls at their respective schools to congratulate them and presented them with their prize.

“It’s really great to see such a festive spirit in the community at this time of year- especially amongst children,” Mr Pasin said.
