The Riverland community is set to benefit from the Australian Government’s investment in local roads, with $200,000 on the way for Murtho Rd upgrades.Federal Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Darren Chester said the Australian Government is committed to improving local roads throughout South Australian, under the Roads to Recovery program.

“This project is a fantastic example of how communities are benefitting from the repair and upgrade of critical local roads,” Mr Chester said.

Federal Member for Barker said local motorists would welcome the upgrades which will see the third and final stage of Murtho Road upgrades completed. The Federal Government also contributed funding for the initial two stages.

“The Roads to Recovery funding for Murtho Road will greatly assist the Council to complete this important upgrade.

“The Coalition is committed to investing in our regional road infrastructure,” said Mr Pasin.

Mayor Neil Martinson said the ‘Roads to Recovery’ funding had been used to deliver a range of projects within the region.

“Road infrastructure funding from the Federal Government allows us to deliver the necessary upgrades to our local roads,” Mayor Martinson said.

The Australian Government has committed $200,000 to the $300,000 third stage.
