Member for Barker, Tony Pasin, today called on local community groups, sporting clubs and not for profit organisations to lodge an expression of interest for Round 3 of the Stronger Communities Programme, announced in this year’s Budget, which will deliver $150,000 to fund small capital projects which deliver social benefits for the Murraylands.

“This is an exciting opportunity for local communities to identify potential projects which will contribute to our community’s long term vibrancy and viability,” Mr Pasin said.

“Following community consultation, I will invite identified incorporated not-for-profit and local government organisations to apply for funding.

“Identified applicants can apply for funding of at least $2,500 and up to a maximum of $20,000 and must provide matching cash or in-kind funding on at least a dollar for dollar basis.

“Expressions of Interest application forms are now available from my office and have to be returned no later than 1st August 2017. The application round will then run from 7th August 2017 to 28th September 2017.

“I encourage potential applicants to contact my Murray Bridge office on 08 8531 2466 to discuss project eligibility criteria,” Mr Pasin said.

Mr Pasin said that the applications that are recommended for grant funding will be assessed against the Programme Guidelines by the Department of Department of Industry, Innovation and Science to ensure that approved projects represent value for money.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to read the Stronger Communities Programme guidelines which are available on the Department website https://www.business.gov.au/assistance/stronger-communities-programme
