The Member for Barker has congratulated the Fathers Farm Inc for their successful application to the Morrison Government’s Communities Environment Program.

The Farthers Farm Inc has received $6,475 through the Program for a Whitegood Recycling Program.

Mr Pasin said that the Communities Environment Program was empowering local community groups to deliver practical local environmental projects that would not only raise environmental awareness but also strengthen the local community.

“The Communities Environment program is all about harnessing the passion of grassroots community organisations to deliver practical local projects that directly improve our local environment. This project does exactly that,” Mr Pasin said.

The project will enable the collection of white goods and other solid household waste at The Fathers Farm waste transfer centre.

“The project will reduce the amount of hard waste currently going to landfill – a brilliant outcome,” Mr Pasin said.

“By collecting and recycling whitegoods and other household hard waste, which cannot be disposed of through existing waste services, we’re reducing environmental risks in household back yards and providing an option for repairs, reuse or recycling of these products,” Mr Pasin said.

The Morrison Government is investing more than $22 million in the Communities Environment Program to support local environmental projects in every electorate across Australia, with grants ranging from $2,500 to $20,000 per project.
