Member for Barker Tony Pasin says through the PaTH programme the Federal Coalition Government is delivering on their commitment to help young people equip themselves with the right skills to get a job.The three core elements of Coalition Government’s Youth Jobs “PaTH” programme are to Prepare young job seekers to understand what employers expect of them in the workplace and equip them with the skills, attitude and behaviours for them to be successful in a job; Trial job seekers through an internship for a period of between 4 to 12 weeks; and Hire – with a Youth Bonus wage subsidy of up to $10,000 to help more businesses hire young people.

“The Youth Jobs PaTH program is a central element of the Government’s comprehensive plan to get more Australians into work,” Mr Pasin said.

Through PaTH, thousands of young Australians have gained work, and set themselves on the road to achieving financial independence.

“I believe the best form of welfare is a job and our PaTH program is delivering opportunities for young Australians to gain the skills and experience they need to move off welfare and into work,” said Mr Pasin.

In the coming months the Member for Barker will be hosting Youth Jobs PaTH forums throughout the electorate with the purpose of assisting businesses looking for staff as well as helping young people looking for work understand the PaTH program and what it has to offer.
