A virtual jobs fair showcasing employment opportunities in the Adelaide and Murraylands regions was held this week with over 1,500 jobs on offer to jobseekers.

The Adelaide and Murraylands Virtual Jobs Fair, funded by the Australian Government, brought together job seekers and local businesses, to promote job opportunities available in the local area.

Member for Barker Tony Pasin said the virtual jobs fair provided opportunities for people in the Adelaide and Murraylands regions who are looking for work to interact online with employers and employment service providers.

“As we see COVID-19 restrictions ease, the Government is committed to connecting job seekers with businesses who are looking to hire,” Mr Pasin said.

“Our Government has held jobs fairs in many locations around Australia with more than 36,100 people having attended these events over the past two years.

The Adelaide and Murraylands Jobs Fair saw more than 50 employers with over 1,500 jobs on offer connect with participating jobseekers. Over 1047 of these jobs were in the Murraylands region.

The jobs on offer in the Murraylands region included opportunities in agriculture, manufacturing, transport and Logistics, construction and engineering, clerical as well as health care and disability services.

“It was great event and I hope that participants made the most of the opportunity to speak to employers about the jobs on offer now and the career opportunities they can lead to,” Mr Pasin said.

“The Murraylands is a great place to live and work and it’s a region with so much potential for growth. There are exciting things happening in the region and it’s a great time to be getting on board and being part of a great community,” Mr Pasin said.
