Federal Member for Barker Tony Pasin officially opened the resealed Anlaby Road on Thursday 14 October.

Mr Pasin said the Federal Government assisted in the sealing of Anlaby Road via a contribution of $741,018 from the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.

“I am so pleased that the Federal Government is supporting worthwhile projects in the Light Regional Council like this one.”

“Every single project we support makes a huge difference in our local community, that is why we moved quickly to approve funding.”

“We know how important these developments and upgrades are for our communities because we recognise the social and community benefits that come from increased activity as well as keeping our communities a safe place to live.” Mr Pasin said.

“Light Regional Council has many tourist destinations but one of its most significant offerings is Anlaby Station, a place of immense significance for our national agricultural heritage.”

“Now Anlaby Road is sealed it will become one of the destinations of choice for tourists visiting Kapunda and the wider Light area.“ Mr Pasin said.

Co-Owner of Anlaby Station Andrew Morphett said “Our co-investment in this infrastructure along with the Federal Government and Light Regional Council project positions us to provide an enhanced tourism offering to showcase the unique rural heritage of Anlaby.”

“We look forward to welcoming many new and returning visitors to Anlaby to immerse themselves in our unique heritage tourism offering including B&B accommodation, weddings and special events, ten acres of heritage garden, and luxury merino products.” Mr Morphett said.
