Today I attended a CFS briefing on the Blackford bushfire in Luncindale, together with South Australian Premier, Steven Marshall, Minister for Police, Emergency Services and Correctional Services of South Australia, Vincent Tarzia and Member for Mackillop, Nick McBride.

75 landowners have been affected by this bushfire, with homes & infrastructure destroyed, as well as loss of stock.

I would like to express my gratitude to the CFS, SAPOL and PIRSA for their outstanding response. It could have been much worse.

The Blackford site will be monitored by the CFS for the coming weeks.

For the selflessness and courage of the volunteers who have protected the Lucindale community, tending to injured animals and supporting the bushfire relief and recovery, thank you.

A friendly reminder to all, take care and be vigilant.
