BARKER COMMUNITY GROUPS ENCOURAGED TO APPLY FOR INFRSTRUCTURE GRANTS

Member for Barker Tony Pasin MP is encouraging community organisations and councils in Barker to apply for grants to build and improve community infrastructure.

Mr Pasin said he was committed to supporting investment into local projects to deliver practical improvements to regional communities to provide the services and opportunities that are often taken for granted in the capital cities.

“The Coalition understands the importance of supporting the regions and community organisations which is why we invested so heavily in infrastructure, facilities and programs to enrich community spirit and drive opportunities,” Mr Pasin said.

“I want to make sure that every opportunity is taken to keep improving local facilities to ensure our regions remain great places to live, work and raise a family,” Mr Pasin said.

Applications are now open for the Federal Government’s Growing Regions grants of between $500,000 and $15 million to upgrade existing or build new community facilities.

Eligible projects could include community and sporting facility upgrades that enhance the amenity of towns or projects that help drive stronger economic opportunities for the local community.

Not-for-profit incorporated community organisations in regional areas, including sporting clubs, are eligible to apply for grants, as well as local councils.

“I’m encouraging members of local clubs and associations who have a project in mind to contact my office for further information and support.”

“I am happy to assist any community organisation willing to put up their hands for funding, recognising there is only a short window of opportunity to get the necessary paperwork together ahead of applications closing on 1 August 2023,” Mr Pasin said.

“The Coalition has a strong track record of delivering funding for facilities in the local community, including Berri Riverside Holiday Park, Loxton Wellbeing and Community Centre, Waikerie Bowling Club, Riverland Field Days pavilion and the Precinct Loxton just to name a few. I want to make sure our community has every chance to benefit from this latest funding opportunity,” Mr Pasin said.

Further details about the Growing Regions community infrastructure grants, including funding guidelines, can be obtained from Mr Pasin’s office in Murray Bridge or Mount Gambier or by emailing Tony.Pasin.MP@aph.gov.au.
