TONY PASIN MP

ASSISTANT SHADOW MINISTER FOR INFRASTRUCTURE AND TRANSPORT

Barossa Veteran Community Supported

Member for Barker Tony Pasin MP has congratulated Tanunda and Nuriootpa RSL sub-branches on recent Federal Government grant funding to support veterans and commemorate the service and sacrifice of local service personnel.

Catching up with local RSL members recently, Mr Pasin said he was pleased to see the Barossa sub-branches actively pursuing Federal funding to maintain infrastructure and commemorate all who have served.

The Tanunda RSL sub-branch have recently been successful in receiving $10,000 through the ‘Saluting their Service’ commemorative grants program to construct a wall of honour at the Hut and $3,000 from the Veteran Wellbeing Grant to switch to an LED lighting system.

At the Nuriootpa RSL, a $3,000 grant from the Saluting their Service grant to install four life-sized steel military silhouettes in the memorial rose garden. Two new flag poles will also be erected in coming weeks and Mr Pasin also delivered new Australian and Aboriginal Flags. A Volunteer Grant has also provided $3,300 for upgraded kitchen equipment.

“I congratulate the Nuriootpa and Tanunda RSL sub-branches for their dedication to maintaining their facilities and ensuring the Barossa community continues to remember those who have served,” said Mr Pasin.

“It is essential that we continue to support past present and future members of our defence force and ensure that our veteran organisations are equipped to not only support their existing members but provide a welcoming environment for future generations. These funding grants are a small way in which we can provide gratitude and support to veterans in local communities like the Barossa,” Mr Pasin said.
