Four new bridge projects will be delivered in the Barker following the announcement of successful projects under round three of the Federal Government’s Bridges Renewal Program.

The Moyhall Road Bridge is among the four projects in Barker to receive over $1.3 million funding under the program.

Mr Pasin said he had worked closely with the community to identify key bridges for replacement or upgrade, with the improvement set to increase connectivity in the region.

Moyhall Road Culvert will receive $343,385 in Federal Government funding which is matched by the proponents.

“The upgrade of Moyhall Road Culvert will replace and widen a culvert extending it’s useful life, maintaining the 166T load limit allowing for improved community access, safety and the removal of a potential 19km detour if the bridge fails or load restrictions are enforced.

Mr Pasin said the $162.53 million allocated toward round three of the Bridges Renewal program was in addition to the $216 million committed under the first two rounds.

“The renewal and upgrade of 186 bridges under this round will deliver social and economic benefits throughout regional Australia,” Mr Pasin said.

The Federal Government’s financial commitment in this round will be matched by successful proponents.
