Federal Member for Barker Tony Pasin has delivered $20,000 to the Kongorong Progress Advisory Committee through the Coalition Governments Stronger Communities Program, for purchase of a community bus.

Visiting the club tonight, Mr Pasin said Round 7 of the Government’s Stronger Communities Program is aimed at funding projects that deliver social and economic benefits and form part of the Coalition Government’s continuing commitment to strengthen local communities across Australia.

“The Community Bus will provide safe transport and convenience for the entire Kongorong community.” Mr Pasin said.

“Community organisations, like the Kongorong Progress Advisory Committee contribute so much to our local community, making them better places to live, work and raise a family,” said Mr Pasin.

“Our local communities are at the heart of Barker and this investment in local projects under the Stronger Communities Program is about invigorating these communities and ensuring their continued success.” Mr Pasin said.

Kongorong Progress Advisory Committee Chairperson Amanda Sealey said “The Kongorong Progress Advisory Committee is extremely grateful to receive funding from the Stronger Communities Grant Program.”

“A chance to discuss opportunities and future projects with Tony Pasin and Ben Hood, led to the grant application. The assistance received from Tony and Ben has been invaluable.” Ms Sealey said.

“The small sporting and community groups have all contributed money to the Kongorong Community Bus Fund, which will provide much needed benefits to the whole township, and broader community.” Ms Sealey said.
