The Australian Government is providing $150,000 to fund thirteen local community infrastructure projects across the electorate of Barker.

Federal Member for Barker Tony Pasin said Round 6 of the Government’s Stronger Communities Program is aimed at funding projects that deliver social and economic benefits and form part of the Coalition Government’s continuing commitment to strengthen local communities across Australia.

“Local organisations such as sporting clubs are so important to the fabric of regional communities. The Stronger Communities Program is about strengthening those local organisations to ensure they have they remain vibrant and sustainable into the future.”

“We know this is needed more than ever after the challenges of the last year, so I am pleased that the Federal Liberal Government is continuing to support local organisations and their communities.”

Millicent and District Basketball Association have received a grant of $7,799 under Round 6 of the Government’s Stronger Communities Programme.

 

“This grant enables Millicent and District Basketball Association to replace 220 uniforms for all playing groups.” Mr Pasin said.

Millicent and District Basketball Association Treasurer, Peter Seebohm said the Association feel extremely fortunate to receive the grant to purchase new uniforms for junior competitions.

“We are an Association that strive really hard to keep our participation fees for our families affordable and receiving this funding really helps us to achieve this goal.” Mr Seebohm said.

“We really appreciate the help that Tony Pasin has given us with this grant. Our Junior players will really look the part in the new uniforms when they arrive.” Mr Seebohm said.
