The Community Centre at Loxton Retirement Village has been officially opened today by the Federal Member for Barker, Tony Pasin MP.

Mr Pasin opened the centre on behalf of the Federal Government who, through the Coalition’s Building Better Regions Fund, provided $1.2 million to the $2.68 million project.

The project has seen construction of a multi-function room, semi-commercial kitchen, toilets, cinema, storage facilities and an outdoor entertaining area.

Mr Pasin said the project will benefit older adults and retirees who are residents of the Retirement Village.

“The facility will create a greater sense of community for older residents in Loxton, promoting social interaction and wellbeing.”

“The Building Better Regions Fund is about just that – building better, stronger regional communities now and into the future,” Mr Pasin said.

“By investing in this project, the Coalition Government has made the Loxton community stronger and supported our aging population,” Mr Pasin said.

“The Coalition Government’s Building Better Regions program has funded hundreds of projects across the country that have delivered jobs, productivity improvements and economic growth to regional communities.” Mr Pasin said.
