Member for Barker Tony Pasin MP has delivered$20,000 in Federal Government Funding for Berri Church of Christ to establish a new Men’s Shed for the Berri community.

The organisation received the funding through the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Program.

Mr Pasin said he was pleased the Federal Government was helping fund the project that would see a Men’s Shed Built for the Berri community.

“Belonging to a social group is vitally important for emotional and mental health, and local Men’s Sheds are an important place for men to meet up and participate in meaningful projects,” Mr Pasin said.

Mr Pasin said the Stronger Communities program is aimed at funding projects that deliver social and economic benefits and form part of the Coalition Government’s continuing commitment to strengthen local communities across Australia.

“Our local communities are the heart of this country and the investment in local projects under the Stronger Communities Programme is about just that – strengthening communities and ensuring they have the facilities and the infrastructure to remain vibrant, great places to live into the future,” Mr Pasin said.
