The Cadell Pistol Club’s toilet facilities have received a much-needed upgrade through a $9,150 grant delivered in Round 5 of the Stronger Communities Program.

The grant allowed the club to install a solar powered system for its newly renovated toilet block, therefore removing the need for electricity or water to the site.

Visiting the club on the weekend, Federal Member for Barker Tony Pasin MP said he was pleased to see the solar system up and running and delivering benefits for the club.

“Community clubs across Barker shared in almost $150,000 during Round 5 of the program, continuing the Federal Government’s commitment to investment in regional communities,” he said.

“As one of two community clubs left in town, the upgrade was really important to the 22 members of the Cadell Pistol Club, to be confident of its longevity.

“The program ensures communities across Barker have the facilities and infrastructure to continue their reputation as vibrant places to live, and to visit.”

The club also recently received a Volunteers Grant of $4,740 to upgrade fire and first aid needs and purchase a fridge, LED lighting and a camera system.
