Member for Barker Tony Pasin MP has delivered $5,000 in Federal Government Funding for the Maori Evangelical Church of SA to contribute to the purchase of 22 seater bus.

The organisation received the funding through the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Program.

Mr Pasin said he was pleased the Federal Government was helping fund the project that would see increased transport services for the church community.

“For those who may not have other transport options, this bus means a lot. It could be the difference between attending events and remaining engaged with the community or feeling isolated at home because getting to events is just too hard,” Mr Pasin said.

Mr Pasin said the Stronger Communities program is aimed at funding projects that deliver social and economic benefits and form part of the Coalition Government’s continuing commitment to strengthen local communities across Australia.

“Our local communities are the heart of this country and the investment in local projects under the Stronger Communities Programme is about just that – strengthening communities and ensuring they have the facilities and the infrastructure to remain vibrant, great places to live into the future,” Mr Pasin said.
