Member for Barker Tony Pasin MP has delivered $2,754 in Federal Government Funding for the South East Radio Group to purchase new software and hardware thanks to the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Program.

The new equipment will enable rapid and accurate scoring of the Australian Radio Foxhunting Championships held annually in Mount Gambier.

“This event attracts significant visitors to Mount Gambier each year. Now more than ever it’s important to support events that bring tourism to our regions.”

“While many members hail from Western Victoria and COVID has impacted the group and the annual championships, I’m pleased that we can support the event when it can be up and running again,” Mr Pasin said.

Mr Pasin said the Stronger Communities program is aimed at funding projects that deliver social and economic benefits and form part of the Coalition Government’s continuing commitment to strengthen local communities across Australia.

“Our local communities are the heart of this country and the investment in local projects and events like this under the Stronger Communities Programme is about just that – strengthening communities and ensuring they have the facilities and the infrastructure to remain vibrant, great places to live into the future,” Mr Pasin said.
