Member for Barker Tony Pasin MP is throwing his weight behind the push to build a new childcare facility in Kingston SE.

Mr Pasin said he used his time in quarantine after returning from Canberra earlier this month to work the phones and hold a number of virtual meetings including with the Minister for Education Alan Tudge MP.

Mr Pasin said the Minister was receptive to concerns regarding how the childcare shortage was impacting parents ability to work or study and the wider economic implications of this on Kingston SE and surrounds.

“The Kingston District Council and the Kingston Early Learning and Childcare Services Working Group have been really dedicated to identifying the issue and working towards a solution,” Mr Pasin said.

“I’m really supportive of their plans to establish a purpose built, standalone facility and I’m advocating for federal funding to make their vision a reality. I’ve discussed the issue with the Minister, and he was really invested in working with me to deliver an outcome for the Kingston SE community.” Mr Pasin said.
