Fix Southern Ports Highway!

Motorists take responsibility for ensuring their vehicles are roadworthy and pay significant excises, taxes and other charges for the privilege. In turn, a core responsibility of Government is to ensure the road network is up to standard. It’s very clear from the condition of roads across the country that the Albanese Labor Government is not living up to its end of the bargain.

Southern Ports Highway is no exception.

The recent announcement of $18 million for a 30km section of the Southern Ports Highway is nowhere near enough. It represents another half measure which will do nothing more than add another patch on an already patchworked pavement.

The time for band-aid repairs is over.

Southern Ports Highway needs proper investment from State and Federal Governments including large portion which needs to be completely re-built.
