In a boost to local sport and the regional economy, The Barossa Council has been awarded $4,760 by the Morrison Government for the Barossa Light and Gawler Football Association 2022 Grand Final.

Member for Barker Tony Pasin said the Barossa Light and Gawler Football Association 2022 Grand Final to be held at the Angaston Football & Netball Club will bring the community together, attract visitors and stimulate the local economy after a challenging few years.

“Our local sporting communities have been hit hard during the pandemic and this investment is about invigorating the Barossa region and helping people reconnect and celebrate through sport.” Mr Pasin said.

“Community sport is so important to the fabric of regional communities, it contributes so much to our local community, making them better places to live, work and raise a family,” said Mr Pasin.

Mr Pasin said the Regional Sport Events Fund program will have wide-ranging benefits for local communities.

Only the Morrison Government will continue to deliver a better future for Barker, and this is part of our plan to build a strong economy and a stronger future.
