As 2020 comes to a close and Barker’s Year 12 cohort begins the process of undertaking their final exams, I wanted to wish them all the best.

You have faced a final year like no other. Despite this I know from speaking to your school leaders that you have not allowed COVID-19 and the significant challenges it has presented to disrupt your education nor will you allow it to define the next chapter of your lives.

This period marks a significant milestone in your life, and regardless of your exam results, there are many amazing opportunities ahead of you.

Whether that is pursuing tertiary education, studying a vocational qualification, entering the workforce otherwise or starting a business, I am confident you all will make the most of the opportunities afforded to you.

Although you may feel stressed or overwhelmed by the exam task ahead, please remember to look after yourselves and ask for help should you need it.

Finally, you will always be the cohort that showed the necessary determination and resilience to get Year 12 done despite the pandemic, we are proud of you for that and you should be proud of that achievement also.
