Member for Barker Tony Pasin MP is encouraging public submissions from dairy farmers, processors, industry representative bodies, government agencies and consumer organisations to the first review of the Dairy Industry Code of Conduct.

The code, which has been operational since 1 January 2020, was designed to address market imbalances in the dairy industry.

“The Government is seeking feedback from industry to make sure the code is operating as intended and addressing imbalances in bargaining power at each level of the dairy supply chain.

“Ultimately, we want the code to help create a stronger business environment, healthier market competition and more competitive supply chains because this means fairer prices for farmers,” Mr Pasin said.

The review is open for public submissions from 5 July 2021 until 15 August 2021 online at the Have Your Say website https://haveyoursay.awe.gov.au/
