An estimated
3,700 organisations in Barker are benefiting from the Federal Government’s
JobKeeper program.
Member for Barker
Tony Pasin MP said JobKeeper is one of a suite of economic measures helping
Australian businesses and workers get through the economic effects of the
global pandemic.
“JobKeeper has no
doubt been a huge benefit to the Barker economy, without which the unemployment
rate through the peak of the covid crisis would have been a lot higher.
“There are many
local businesses, thankfully, seeing an improvement in their turnovers now that
restrictions are easing.
“Our Government
will continue to assess the needs of the various sectors across the economy and
make decisions accordingly,” Mr Pasin said.
The Federal Government will be
outlining next steps in the economic plan at the 23 July fiscal and economic
update.
