KAPUNDA PRIMARY SCHOOL TO RECEIVE NEW FLAG POLE
Member for Barker Tony Pasin MP recently visited Kapunda Primary School to congratulate them on their successful grant funding application to the Federal Government’s ‘Saluting their Service’ commemorative grants program.
A grant of $1,360 will see a new flag pole installed at the school to enable both the Australian National Flag and the Aboriginal Flag flown together.
Mr Pasin congratulated the school on the initiative.
“Ensuring children have an understanding of the importance of civics and national symbols and institutions is an important part of their education,” Mr Pasin said.
“Displaying both flags together is an important symbol of our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and will encourage the children to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia to unite and not divide us,” Mr Pasin said.
Mr Pasin visited the school recently and presented School Captain Jack Wirily with a Flag.
