Dear Editor,

I write to thank all those who assisted and donated to the Big Aussie Barbie last week.

The Big Aussie Barbie campaign is all about getting together to raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia and encourage discussions about prostate cancer, especially with men over the age of 50 years.

This year marks the eighth annual Big Aussie Barbie at my Mount Gambier office to raise money for research and importantly, awareness of prostate cancer.

With the addition of last week’s fundraising efforts, the Mount Gambier Big Aussie BBQ has now raised more than $7,500 across the years.

Thank you again to the Limestone Coast Prostate Cancer Support Group for cooking the BBQ, and to our generous sponsors from Baxter Hire, Bakers Delight, FT Shelton & Son Butchers who continue to support us year after year.

A huge thank you also to the team at Key 2 Sale, who made a donation of $1,000 to support our cause as part of their ‘Key 2 Kindness’ initiative.

Thank you to all those who came along to support the cause and, to all Australian men, particularly those over 50, get your PSA checked by your GP, it may just be a decision which saves your life.
