MANNUM RSL RECEIVES A BOOST IN FUNDING FOR NEW FACILITY
Federal Member for Barker, Tony Pasin MP has been the bearer of more good news for the Mannum RSL sub-branch with funding from three separate Federal funding programs assisting the organisation to complete the new community remembrance facility.
Mr Pasin joined the RSL on Sunday at their annual lunch where he congratulated the committee on securing a total of almost $265,000 of Federal Government funding.
The final round of the former Coalition Government’s highly successful Building Better Regions Fund included $98,692 in funding for the Mannum RSL to construct an inclusive remembrance community facility in Mannum.
More recently, the organisation has been successful in a further $20,000 from the final round of Stronger Communities Program as well as $146,098 from the Veterans Wellbeing Grant program.
Mr Pasin said he was incredibly proud to support the Mannum RSL because the organisation and its members contributed so much for the community.
“Local RSL sub-branches have become an integral part of communities across the Country since the first World War, including here in Mannum since 1919,” Mr Pasin said.
“Just like the local footy club, the CWA or Men’s Shed, RSLs have become an important community organisation that contributes to not only the strength of the local community but to the fabric of Australian society and the wellbeing of our nation,” Mr Pasin said.
“To this end, the Mannum RSL has had my full support in their efforts to create a new community remembrance facility.”
“I congratulate the committee and indeed all the members who make the effort to ensure the Mannum RSL is the very best it can be. Our nation owes a debt of gratitude to our returned service men and women, not only for their service during times of conflict, but the ongoing contribution to supporting Veterans and our community through the RSL,” Mr Pasin said.
“I very much look forward to seeing the project completed and delivering for the Mannum community,” Mr Pasin said.
