I’m thrilled that the State Government has made a commitment to fund the Meningococcal B vaccine Bexsero for children aged up to 12 months, catch-up programs for children under four years, and adolescents.

As a father of two young children I understand how frightening this disease is. It has affected many families and their communities in Barker and this is why I have lobbied for this vaccine to be made available in South Australia by the State Government until it can be included on the National Immunisation Program.

I’m so pleased that our voices have been heard and the State Government has come to this decision today.

This is a win for all the families who have been affected by this disease and who have worked to ensure it does not affect others.
