“The Federal Government is delivering the services and infrastructure our communities deserve,” Mr Pasin said.

“We are backing these projects so local people have the facilities for the future, while creating jobs to boost our economic recovery.” Mr Pasin said.

“I pride myself on being able to deliver projects that make the Limestone Coast an ever better place to live, work and raise a family.” Mr Pasin said.

“I have worked closely with the Applicants of these projects and I’m so pleased to have secured this funding for the Limestone Coast.” Mr Pasin said.

Tatiara District Council will receive $335,000 for ‘Housing for Growth – Tatiara Workers Accommodation’. This project will build two four-unit accommodation blocks at the Bordertown Caravan Park.

Tatiara District Council Mayor Graham Excell said “We have always been proud of our strong, vibrant economy and low unemployment rate. But the flipside of this economic strength is that our businesses cannot recruit enough staff locally to fill job vacancies and have to bring people in from outside the district.”

“The housing shortage we have experienced for many years has made this recruitment extraordinarily difficult for Tatiara businesses of all sizes and industries.” Mayor Excell said.

“We are very excited to partner with the Australian Government in responding to this challenge and developing accommodation for workers at the Bordertown Caravan Park.” Mayor Excell said.

Millicent & District International Basketball Assoc Inc will receive $211,000 for ‘Millicent Basketball Stadium Central Player, Spectator and Community Area’. This project will upgrade the current storage and seating area to an enclosed accessible multi court viewing area.

Millicent & District International Basketball Assoc Inc President Peter Seebohm said Millicent Basketball is ecstatic and very pleased with the news that the 1st stage of Viewing Clubroom project has been funded.

“This project will allow us to fully support our families and members while at the stadium, as well as helping us promote the sport and venue as one of the best in Country SA.” Mr Seebohm said.

“We are very appreciative of the support given to us through the application process by Tony and thank him very much.” Mr Seebohm said.

“The Basketball committee will now commence the process of getting on with job. We know that this project will help provide a secure financial future to our sport and community.” Mr Seebohm said.

Blue Lake Golf Club will receive $171,914 for the construction of an 18-hole Mini Golf Course.

Blue Lake Golf Club President Peter Sealey said the Members of the Blue Lake Golf Club sincerely thank the Member for Barker Tony Pasin and the Federal Government.

“This grant will go towards the construction of an 18-hole Mini Golf Course to be constructed adjacent to the existing Administration Centre at the Blue Lake Public Golf Course situated close by to The Famous Blue Lake and Tourist Park.” Mr Sealey said.

“We believe it will provide a pathway for juniors and others of all ages to become active in the sport of golf. It will be inclusive for ambulant, disabled and family participation with an affordable recreational activity. We also believe it will attract visitors and Tourists to stay and play and view our iconic Crater Lakes Area situated at Mount Gambier.” Mr Sealey said.

Under Round 5 of the BBRF, the Government has committed almost $300 million to support 295 projects across regional Australia, which will create an estimated 9,900 jobs during the project period.

This latest funding round takes our total support through the BBRF to $1.38 billion across nearly 1,300 projects.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Barnaby Joyce said the Government is focused on ensuring our regions remain strong.

“The Liberal and Nationals Government is continuing to work hard on behalf of Australians living in regional and remote communities,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.

“That’s why we’ve committed an additional $100 million under this latest round to take total funding to almost $300 million. This extra funding will support more projects, more jobs and create more economic opportunities in our regions to boost their recovery from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Funding for these projects in the Limestone Coast is a testament to the dedication and tenacity of Member for Barker Tony Pasin MP.”

“Funding under the Building Better Regions Fund supports economic and social infrastructure for the long-term benefit of regional communities.

“Infrastructure upgrades funded in this latest round will ensure our regions remain great places to live and visit, while helping support important regional industries which create jobs.

“Our Government is committed to delivering the best outcomes for regional and remote Australia, which is why we are providing local businesses, industries and families with opportunities to get ahead.”
