On Thursday 5 May, Member for Barker Tony Pasin MP officially opened the newly-completed Naracoorte Caves Trail.
This project was made possible by the Federal Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program and Naracoorte Lucindale Council.
Member for Barker Tony Pasin said the Federal Government contributed $40,000 to this important project.
“This project builds on the high-quality visitor experiences offered at Naracoorte Caves, to provide a linkage to Naracoorte township and will be used by regular bike riders, walkers and families seeking opportunities for family activities.” Mr Pasin said.
“It’s fantastic to see the completion of the Naracoorte Caves Trail for the local community and visitors to enjoy.” Mr Pasin said.
“I am so pleased that Federal Government funding can support worthwhile projects like the Naracoorte Caves Trail for the Naracoorte Lucindale Council region,” Mr Pasin said.
“Partnering with the Naracoorte Lucindale Council to ensure we deliver these projects for local communities, supporting jobs, construction businesses and economic growth.” Mr Pasin said.
Naracoorte Lucindale Council, Erka Vickery said, ““In conjunction with the Federal Member for Barker Mr Tony Pasin MP, Naracoorte Lucindale Council is excited to officially launch the Naracoorte Caves Trail,” said Mayor Erika Vickery OAM.
“The Naracoorte Caves Trail project is the culmination of a major collaborative effort between a range of partners, connecting the town of Naracoorte with the world-renowned Caves and allowing locals and visitors alike to travel across the landscape and understand how it has changed over time.”
The Federal Government has approved funding of $2,902,235 towards Naracoorte Lucindale Council projects as part of the $2.5 billion Local Road and Community Infrastructure Program, which is supporting local jobs, businesses and boosting the economy.
