Member for
Barker Tony Pasin has announced $200,000 in Federal Government Funding that
will support a new Murray Bridge War Memorial located in Sturt Reserve.
“It is
important that as a community we continue to recognise the contribution of our
local veterans,” Mr Pasin said.
“This project
is an opportunity for veterans and the community to stand side-by-side,
remembering the service and sacrifice of those who have served our country in
times of war and peace.”
“The new
memorial is to be a place of peace, tranquillity, reflection and commemoration
where future generations can pay their respects for all those who have served.
“I approached
the Prime Minister to advocate for funding to help get this project happening.
I know it’s a project that the Murray Bridge RSL has been working on for years
and I’m really pleased that Our Government can assist in making it happen,” Mr
Pasin said.
