Federal Member for Barker Tony Pasin said the Morrison Government was pleased to be supporting local community projects through the Tackling Tough Times Together Program.

“The Tackling Tough Times Together Program has delivered community capacity building projects right across Barker, including the Greenock Institute Kitchen Renewal which received $26,390. That funding facilitated the upgrade to the kitchen at the Greenock Institute meaning that this important community space can continue to serve the needs for the local community.”

“Projects like the Greenock Institute Kitchen Renewal reduce volunteer fatigue, enhance social participation and boost the operations of local not-for-profit organisations, which are all crucial to drought-affected regional communities,” Mr Pasin said.

Jacqui Possingham said the Light Regional Council and the community of Greenock are extremely grateful for the support from Tony Pasin MP and FRRR to fund this project.

“The 1925 kitchen had many stories to tell. We are delighted to have an upgraded kitchen for our beautiful hub, and to have future decades of community gatherings.” Ms Possingham said.

“Standing together is important now more than ever and communities can rest assured the Government continues to have their back.” Mr Pasin said.
