Member for Barker Tony Pasin has announced $200,000 in Federal Government Funding that will support the rebuild of the Nangwarry Football Clubrooms.

“Across Barker and across the nation our Government is supporting grassroots sporting clubs upgrade infrastructure because we recognise the wider health, social and community benefits that come from greater activity and participating in sport,” Mr Pasin said.

“In Nangwarry’s case is not a matter of upgrading – it’s a matter of rebuilding this vital piece of infrastructure from the ground up.”

“The devastating fire that saw the Nangwarry clubrooms destroyed saw the club left without a home. The club and its 54 year history really is the heart of the Nangwarry community and I think I speak for everyone in the South East when saying I want to see it rebuilt as quickly as possible.”

“That’s why I approached the Prime Minister to advocate for funding to help with the rebuild, and deliver that funding, fully budgeted, before we go into election mode. I’m thrilled that my advocacy has been successful and this funding will rollout, guaranteed, before the Government goes into caretaker mode.”

The funding will be delivered to the Nangwarry Football Club through the Federal Government’s Community Development Grant fund.
