Member for Barker Tony Pasin hosted a successful community meeting in Mannum this week as part of his continued effort to ensure local voices are heard in Canberra.
The meeting was well attended by local residents on Wednesday night who raised a number of issues directly with Mr Pasin as well as hearing from their local Federal Member about what’s happening in Canberra.
Issues discussed included the Murray Darling Basin Plan, energy reliability and affordability, roads and telecommunications and local health services.
Mannum was one of the first towns in a series of community meetings that Mr Pasin will be holding around the electorate.
“I try and be as accessible as possible as I travel around the electorate. I have mobile offices at farm fairs, field days and shows to ensure that I’m available as much as possible to speak with my constituents in person.
“I am most effective in Canberra as a representative for Barker when I have a clear understanding about what is important to my constituents. That’s why I have begun a series of community meetings,” said Mr Pasin.
Mr Pasin is planning on returning to hold another meeting in Mannum later in the year.
