Member for Barker, Tony Pasin, has helped out on McHappy Day to help raise funds for Ronald McDonald House for families with seriously ill children.

“Since it first started in 1991, McHappy Day has raised more than $42 million for RMHC including over $4 million last year,” said Mr Pasin.

Mr Pasin helped out serving customers at the drive through at the Mount Gambier Central McDonalds store on Saturday and said there was a terrific response from the public.

“Each year people get around this event because it goes towards such a good cause and ultimately helps to benefit so many people, especially seriously ill children and their families, who deserve our generosity.“

Funds raised on McHappy Day go towards a range of RMHC programs including Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, the Ronald McDonald Learning Program and Ronald McDonald Family Retreats Program.

Over the last 30 years more than 100,000 Australian families have benefitted through RMHC programs. The 14 Ronald McDonald Houses alone have provided 89,000 families with a home-away-from-home while their child undergoes treatment for serious illness at a nearby hospital.
