Member for Barker, Tony Pasin has secured $11,000 for the Sunset Community Kitchen thanks to the Coalition Government’s Stronger Communities Programme.
The funding will contribute to a kitchen upgrade for the organisation including a new cool room.
“I congratulate the organisation on this successful funding application. It’s an extremely worthy cause and I’m so pleased to be supporting it,” Mr Pasin said.
The Sunset Kitchen has been operating for over seven years serving nutritious meals to people struggling to put food on the table.
The Stronger Communities Program provides not for profit organisations access to funds for small capital projects aimed at strengthening communities by improving community facilities.
“This is a great example of dedicated community organisation run by volunteers working together to achieve great community outcomes. I’m so pleased that Federal Government funding can also support this worthwhile community endeavour,” said Mr Pasin.
