Member for Barker Tony Pasin today visited the Mannum Community Men’s Shed following Federal Government funding announced earlier this year.

The Coalition Government provided $2,500 funding for the Mannum Community Men’s Shed to install a new roof top air conditioner.

The Men’s Shed has also recently purchased metal work machinery using a previous grant from through the Federal Governments Shed Programme.

“Men’s Sheds help men, particularly as they get older, to connect with each other and prevent social isolation and preventable health conditions,” Mr Pasin said.

“Federal Government funding helps Men’s Sheds to buy tools and equipment, support community projects and training, maintain or develop their buildings, or create local activities to improve men’s health.

Mr Pasin was impressed with the new developments since his last visit.

It’s fantastic to be able to come back and see the changes that have been made using the funding. The Mannum Men’s Shed continues to evolve and improve. It’s such a great asset for the Mannum community.
