The Mannum community will benefit from recently announced Federal Government grants to help the Mannum RSL and the Mannum Community Men’s Shed commemorate and honour the sacrifices made by Australia’s service men and women.

“I congratulate these organisations for receiving these grants through the Australian Government’s Grants programs to honour the service and sacrifice of our Australian Defence personnel,” Mr Pasin said.

Mannum RSL will receive $847 through the ‘Saluting Their Service’ (STS) Commemorations Program to restore the Garden of Memory monument at the Mannum Cemetery.

Mannum Community Men’s Shed has been successful in their application for $3,152 to install a flag pole and two bench seats with commemorative plaques. This funding is through the Armistice Centenary Grants Program, which supports community projects commemorating the end of the First World War.

“Both the Mannum RSL and Mannum Men’s Shed have a well-deserved reputation in the community. I’m pleased that they are able to access this funding for these projects.”

Mr Pasin said these grants are funding projects that directly support and honour our veterans and their families and the sacrifices they have made.

“The Australian Government will continue to invest in and support to organisations helping veterans and their community.”
