The unemployment rate has decreased again in the Riverland, underscoring strong jobs growth across Australia.

The unemployment rate across the Riverland decreased from 6.35 per cent to 5.17 per cent in the 12 months to September 2018, according to the latest Small Area Labour Markets publication.

More than 1.2 million jobs have been created since the Coalition came to office in 2013.

“The Coalition Government is determined to continue to put in place the right conditions to ensure we have a strong economy and more jobs,” Mr Pasin said.

There are more Australians in work than ever before, and more Australians in full-time work than ever before.

“Without a strong economy, Australia won’t have the capacity to deliver the jobs and opportunities we need. I’m pleased to see that the benefits are flowing through to our community,” Mr Pasin said.

“Our plan for a stronger economy is working, but there is more work to do.

“In contrast, Labor doesn’t have a plan to manage Australia’s economy, only a plan for $200 billion worth of higher taxes which would hurt our economy and leave Australians worse off.”
