The Australian Government is backing volunteers, with up to $20 million available to support volunteers across the nation.

Member for Barker, Tony Pasin, said $132,450 is available in Barker as part of the 2021 Volunteer Grants round.

Mr Pasin is calling for eligible, not-for-profit community organisations in Barker to submit their expression of interest before 5pm Monday 19 April.

“Volunteers across Barker freely give their time to support local organisations in a variety of ways, and make an extraordinary contribution to our community,” said Mr Pasin.

Volunteer Grants of $1,000 to $5,000 will help volunteers and volunteer groups to buy small equipment, to reimburse volunteers for fuel, to assist with training costs or support promotional activities.

Successful applicants will be announced in November 2021.

Organisations should check their eligibility by contacting my office on 08 8724 7730 or by visiting the Australian Government’s GrantConnect website at www.grants.gov.au.
