Barker businesses are set to benefit from specialist advice next month when Member for Barker Tony Pasin hosts a small business and family enterprise online forum.
With special guest speaker Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman Kate Carnell, the forum will be about ‘COVID-19 survival and coming out the other side’.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy,” Mr Pasin said.
“We have over 3.5 million small businesses across the country, making up nearly half the national workforce. As such they are a vital part of our COVID-19 recovery.
“At a local level, I want to see Barker’s 14,600 small and family businesses not only survive through COVID but be in a strong position to thrive when we get through to the other side.
“That’s why I’ve asked the Ombudsman to join me for the online forum. Let’s equip our small businesses with the knowledge and support to put them in the best possible position to do this.
“It’s all part of our Government’s plan for a business-led economic recovery,” Mr Pasin said.
“I encourage local businesses to take advantage of the free event that will explain the Ombudsman’s role and what assistance is available,”
The event will commence at 4pm on October 14 with a video link supplied upon RSVP.
RSVP to tony.pasin.mp@aph.gov.au by Wednesday, October 7.
