Federal Member for Barker Tony Pasin said Round 7 of the Government’s Stronger Communities Program is aimed at funding projects that deliver social and economic benefits and form part of the Coalition Government’s continuing commitment to strengthen local communities across Australia.

“Local organisations such as Men’s Sheds are so important to the fabric of regional communities. The Stronger Communities Program is about strengthening those local organisations to ensure they have they remain vibrant and sustainable into the future.”

“We know this is needed more than ever after the challenges of the last two years, so I am pleased that the Federal Government is continuing to support local organisations and their communities.”

Mount Gambier Men’s Shed have received a grant of $7,604 under Round 7 of the Government’s Stronger Communities Program.

“This grant enables the Mount Gambier Men’s Shed to purchase a computerised engraver/router to enable users of the men’s shed to learn new skills and create pieces for sale to ensure the future of the organisation.” Mr Pasin said.

Mount Gambier Men’s Shed President, Peter Halleday said this grant will assist to purchase a computerised router.

“This is an exciting purchase, enabling us to introduce a new project for our members to take on using ultra-modern technology. They will be able to create great items which can then be sold to the community.” Mr Halleday said.

“We are very grateful for Tony’s support in delivering this grant to the Mount Gambier Men’s Shed.” Mr Halleday said.
