The Morrison Federal Government is continuing to support the health and wellbeing of men in Barker through funding grants under the 20th funding round of the National Shed Development Programme.
Member for Barker Tony Pasin welcomed the funding, that will see five Men’s Sheds across Barker share in more than $27,000.

“To stay healthy, we need to do regular activities with the people around us, and our local men’s sheds have become a really important part of so many communities in Barker.”
“The Government remains committed to supporting men’s sheds and encouraging men to meet up and get involved with meaningful community projects.” Mr Pasin said.
More than 6,000 men across Australia are expected to benefit from the programme, with 121 men’s sheds receiving funding under this round.
In Barker, funding has been awarded to:
Millicent Men’s Shed – $7,000 for Shed Improvements: Metalworking workshop and storage area -linings, electrical work
Mount Pleasant Men’s Shed – $2,900 for Health & Wellbeing & Events: Series of health and wellbeing events- physical, mental health and wellbeing, supporting remote/rural communities-whiteboard, catering
Penola Men’s Shed – $9,274 for Shed Improvements: 2 roller doors- wind barrier, split system air conditioner to address extreme temperatures; Tools & Equipment: Carbatec 15″ Planer thicknesser,
Southern Barossa Men’s Shed – $6,844 for Health & Wellbeing & Events: Safety signage, chemical storage cabinet, PPE, tactile floor indicator, tactile signage; Shed Improvements: 2 x wall grab rails, modular kitchen, continuous flow HWS; Tools & Equipment: 36″ T glide rail Sawstop, raised garden beds
The Tatiara Men’s Shed – $1,950 for Tools & Equipment: Hammer drill, chisel grinder, 8 pce turning tool set
Since 2013, the Government has provided $5.4 million through the National Shed Development programme to support men’s sheds across Australia.
