Member for Barker Tony Pasin MP has given to The Murraylands Christmas Appeal and is encouraging those living in the region to remember those in the community who may need a little additional support this Christmas.

“Christmas is a really busy time of year for everyone as we attempt to get things at work tided up before taking leave and spending time with friends and family, but it’s important to take the time to remember the true spirit of Christmas and help those in our community who might be doing it tough, particularly those living along the river corridor this Christmas,” Mr Pasin said.

The Murraylands Christmas Appeal is a joint initiative of the Rural City of Murray Bridge, AC.Care, St Vincent de Paul Society and the Salvation Army and has been actively helping the Murraylands community at Christmas for five years.

Support for the Appeal can be made by donating money directly to the charity of choice, donating in-date non-perishable food items or donating toys suitable for children under the age of 14.

“With interest rate rises, cost of living increases and sky rocketing energy prices, many in the community will be really feeling the pinch,” Mr Pasin said.

“This can be hard on young families with Children in particular, and that’s why I’ve made the decision to buy locally made toys from the Murrayland’s Community Men’s Shed and donate them to the Appeal for a family doing it tough.”
