PASIN WELCOMES FUNDING TO SALUTE RIVERLAND SERVICE

Federal Member for Barker, Tony Pasin MP has been the bearer of more good news recently for the Renmark and Waikerie RSL sub-branches with grant funding from the Federal Government’s Saluting their Service Grants Program to fund commemorative projects in the region.

Mr Pasin visited both RSLs recently to congratulate the organisations on securing the funding.

Renmark RSL will receive $6,150 to install two commemorative bench seats at the Cross of Sacrifice memorial garden in Renmark, while Waikerie RSL will install a medal display board with $2,550 received from the program.

Mr Pasin said RSLs were an important part of many communities around the country and it was great to see Riverland organisations actively pursuing projects of commemoration.

“Local RSL sub-branches have become an integral part of communities not only in Barker but also right across the Nation,” Mr Pasin said.

“Just like the local footy club, the CWA or Men’s Shed, RSLs have become an important community organisation that contributes to not only the strength of the local community but to the fabric of Australian society and the wellbeing of our nation,” Mr Pasin said.

“I congratulate both organisations who are ensuring Riverland communities continue to honour the service and sacrifice of our veterans. Our nation owes a debt of gratitude to our returned service men and women, not only for their service during times of conflict, but the ongoing contribution to supporting Veterans and our community through the RSL,” Mr Pasin said.
