Member for Barker, Tony Pasin MP has returned to the Soldiers’ Memorial Gardens in Kapunda and met with the volunteers undertaking the restoration of the war memorial at Dutton Park.

The Dutton Park Inc. committee received a Federal Government grant of $10,000 last year to undertake landscaping upgrades and Mr Pasin said he was pleased to return and see the works that had been completed with the funding.

Mr Pasin said the progress of this project was a testament to the commitment of the volunteers and will ultimately benefit the wider Kapunda community.

"Well maintained shared spaces build a sense of community, providing a place to come together, share stories, reflect on the past and in this case, commemorate those who have served our Nation and the sacrifices made for our freedom. I commend the Dutton Park Management Committee and volunteers for what is being planned and achieved at the Soldiers’ Memorial Gardens in Kapunda,” Mr Pasin said.

Mr Pasin spoke with volunteers about further works planned and the funding required to see the project completed in full.

“I’m a huge supporter of this project and I’m working with the Dutton Park Inc Committee and the volunteers to find funding to see the project completed,” Mr Pasin said.
