Dear Editor,

Congratulations to all at the Leader on being awarded the Best Rural Newspaper in Australia at the recent Country Press SA Awards.

This achievement in isolation would be cause for celebration let alone when it accompanies previously awarded titles of Best Advertisement, Best Supplement for the Barossa Mag and of course Best Newspaper for two years in a row.

This year’s recognition cements your stella reputation and standing in the rural press fraternity, but it also validates what the Barossa community have come to know; that the Leader continues to produce an outstanding publication week after week. 

You should be extremely proud of each and every dedicated member of your team, who, under your leadership strive to print quality, local news.

The importance of locally owned and produced news in regional communities should never be underestimated and I’m so pleased that your efforts have been recognised.
