New Home to Help In Home Hospice Care Expand Support

Federal Member for Barker Tony Pasin has joined representatives of In Home Hospice Care Inc to celebrate the organisation’s move into its new Community Wellbeing and Support Hub at 50A Sturt Street, Mount Gambier.

During a visit to the premises, Mr Pasin met with Board Chair Ebony Cunningham, volunteers, staff and a former client to discuss the organisation’s growing range of services and supports, and the important role the new facility will play in expanding its reach across the Limestone Coast.

Federal Member for Barker Tony Pasin has joined the Chair, Board Members and staff of In Home Hospice Care's to celebrate the group’s move into their new Community Wellbeing and Support Hub at 50A Sturt Street, Mount Gambier.

During a visit to the new premises, Mr Pasin met with Board Chair Ebony Cunningham, board members and staff to discuss the organisation's growing range of services and supports, and the important role the new facility will play in expanding its reach across the Limestone Coast.

The new Community Wellbeing and Support Hub provides dedicated space for volunteer training, carer education, wellbeing activities, community connection, and support for individuals and families navigating life-limiting illness, caregiving, grief and bereavement. The project has been made possible through the generosity of local businesses, community organisations and individual donors.

"In Home Hospice Care provides an extraordinary service to families at one of the most difficult times in their lives," Mr Pasin said.

"This new Community Wellbeing and Support Hub gives the organisation the space it needs to continue growing its volunteer base, strengthen community education and expand the practical and emotional support it provides across our region."

In Home Hospice Care Manager Sandi Elliot said the new Community Wellbeing and Support Hub marked an important milestone for the organisation.

"This new hub gives us the space to expand our services and supports, better train and support our volunteers, and create a welcoming place where people can access education, wellbeing programs and compassionate care," Ms Elliot said.

"This project has only been possible because of the incredible generosity of local businesses, community organisations and individual donors. We are deeply grateful for the support we've received and look forward to continuing to serve the Limestone Coast community from our new home."

The new hub will enable In Home Hospice Care to continue growing its support for the Limestone Coast community while strengthening the volunteer network that underpins the organisation's work.
